※Registration for 15th OECD/Japan Seminar is CLOSED.

Overview

Over the last decades, globalization has affected many aspects of policy and practice, and education is no exception. Examples of the phenomena brought about by globalization in the field of higher education include growth of cross-border education cooperation, increased competition among educational institutions, development of regional collaboration and a focus on quality.

This seminar will provide an opportunity for participants to share experiences on issues such as the influence of accelerated commercialization of education and a knowledge-based society. Special attention will be given to the role of government. This seminar will also approach several aspects of globalization in higher education by exploring the latest trends of regionalization and quality assurance.
